Q: What is the Star Stable competition?
A: Star Stable is a fun and exciting interactive competition, the premise being simple. You play as a stable trainer and you get the opportunity to take part in the Autumn Racing Carnival, by selecting and entering your very own stable of horses, as well as nominating your own Stable Jockey.
You select the real horses and jockeys, and they receive virtual winnings from 95 races across 9 feature race meetings for your stable according to their real, actual performance in each race meeting. Results are entered and processed soon after the completion of each race meeting. Your stable is then ranked against your friends and relatives within your own 'Mini League', and against everyone else playing from your State, and in the entire competition.

Quick Tips
- Select a complete stable of 10 horses and 1 jockey;
- You'll need to select the 10 horses for your stable within the $1,000,000 budget;
- You'll need to select 1 Jockey, free of charge;
- You'll be able to make 2 horse trades in each of the nominated 8 trade periods, as well as trading your Jockey if you wish to do so.
Select your complete stable
- You must select a FULL stable of 10 horses and 1 jockey before the beginning of the first featured race meeting in order to win virtual prize money.
- You must finalise your stable before the Lockout prior to the start of the competition, which is 10.30AM AEDT on Saturday 2nd March, 2013. If you do not select your stable before the Lockout, your stable will automatically be filled for you with a random selection from the Top 100 most popular horses after this time and prior to the first featured race of the first meeting.
Selection restrictions
- The only selection restriction is that you must select a complete stable of 10 horses and 1 jockey (free of charge) within the $1,000,000 budget.
Q: How many horses and jockeys do I have to start with, and do I need to have that exact number? A: You MUST select a total of 1 jockey (free) and 10 horses within your starting budget of a virtual $1 million. You must finalise your stable before the Lockout prior to the start of the competition, which is 10.30AM AEDT on Saturday 2nd March, 2013. If you do not select your stable before the Lockout, your stable will automatically be filled for you with a random selection from the Top 100 most popular horses after this time and prior to the first featured race of the first meeting.
Q: Why are there restrictions and limits on which horses I can afford?
A: To make the competition challenging, a virtual $1 million dollar budget has been set up at the beginning of the competition and a virtual horse price has been assigned based on the horses' recent form and expected performances.
Throughout the game, based on the horses' performance, the value of the horse may increase. If you purchased the horse at its original value, you will be able to sell it at its new, higher price. You may accumulate money to add to your budget throughout the competition.

Horse Value Changes
- In Star Stable, horse values may now go up, depending on their performance in each of the featured races in the competition.
- If a particular horse's value changes is in your stable, you may elect to trade out that horse and have their NEW increased value (plus anything left over in your budget) to use when you trade in another horse. As such, the overall value of your Stable may also increase over the starting $1,000,000 budget that was allocated and you do not need to specifically bring your stable's value back to or below your starting budget.
- The maximum value that a horse may go up to is $250,000.
- Horses will increase in value based on their placings as follows:
| Race Type | 1st Place | 2nd Place | 3rd Place | 4th Place | 5th Place |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Group 1 | $75,000 | $50,000 | $50,000 | $25,000 | $25,000 |
| Group 2 | $50,000 | $25,000 | $25,000 | $0 | $0 |
| Group 3 | $50,000 | $25,000 | $25,000 | $0 | $0 |
| Listed | $25,000 | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 |
Q: Why do some stables seem to have a larger budget / stable worth than I do? What is the budget? A: Due to the variations in horse prices each race meeting, some stables rise in value, and sometimes it appears that they're over the total budget. Every stable starts with exactly the same budget value ($1,000,000).
Q: I have selected a horse who has since become injured or removed from the Autumn Racing Carnival. Can I replace it? A: You have a total of 2 trades available to you after each race meeting has concluded, with a total of 16 trades allowed for the competition.
Q: How often do horse's values change? A: Horse values may change after each race meeting, based on their finishing positions.
Q: If a horse in my stable does not race, does their value change? A: Horses that don't race do not have their value change.

- Through the unique "Trainers Box" feature as part of your Activity Feed, you'll be able to communicate with your league competitors live.
Public Leagues
- Creating a public league will allow you to invite anyone you like to your league.
- Anyone who joins your league or obtains your unique league code will also have the ability to join and invite others to this league.
- If you selected to join a public league, your entry will be placed in one automatically, at the completion of the next upcoming race meeting, with publishing of results.
Private Leagues
- If you create a private league, you'll be the only one who can invite others to this league (via the League page).
- As 'Administrator', you'll also have the ability to REMOVE stables from your league.
- Anyone joining a Private league is not able to invite others via the league page.
- When using the automated league invite form on your league page to send invitations, your friends/relatives will be provided with a direct link to the registration page, and will be added to your league automatically upon successful registration.
Q: How I do create a league where I can compete against my friends? A: You can create a new league from your League page. After accessing your Leagues page, you can click on the 'Create/Join' button to create a new league, or join one that you've been invited to.
Q: How do I enter a new public league? A: To enter a new public league, you will need to create one. In your Leagues page, simply click on the 'Create/Join' button to create a new league. That league will then be merged with other stables after the publishing of the next race meeting's stats.

Q: I've found out that all of my friends are in another league. How do I swap leagues so I can play against them? Can you move my stable for me? A: If you've been invited into a league by email, then please follow the prompts in the email to join that league. If you have been provided specific league code, then simply click on the 'Create/Join' button and enter the code into the box provided. If you want to leave the league you are currently in, then click on the 'Leave' button and enter the code in the box provided.
Q: Can I change the name of the league that I created? A: Your league name can only be changed prior to your league's first lockout, when your league is finalised and confirmed.
Q: The league that I was in is now different, or its name changed... Why? A: We may add stables or merge leagues where they don't attract enough competitors. All care will be taken to ensure that all original stables that you had in your league will still be there, in addition to new ones. Your league name may therefore change based on these movements.
Q: Why have I been removed from my league? And why can't I rejoin it? A: If you were entered in a Private league, the league's creator may have removed your stable before the league was finalised.
Q: Why can't I invite people into my league? A: If you have been invited into a Private League, then only the league's creator has the ability to invite more people into that league from their Leagues page.

- Registered Stables must be filled by 10:30am on Saturday 2 March, 2013, or the stable will be 'auto filled' for them.
- At
specified times during the Promotion
Period, a Player may vary the composition of their Stable in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (see clause 4.4 – Trades).
- Races
- The Promotion will feature 95 scoring races (Featured Races), to be split into 11 separate race meetings (Race Meetings).
- Each Stable will receive a virtual credit (Credit) equal to the dollar value of the prize money awarded to a Horse in that Stable if that Horse wins or runs a place in a Featured Race throughout the Promotion Period.
- For all meetings, Stables will be credited with the dollar amount awarded by the race clubs on all Featured Races conducted during the Race Meeting (number of races per meeting detailed below).
- The dollar value is the amount of actual prize money awarded and does not include the value of BOBS, VOBIS incentives, trophies or rugs.
- Following each of Race Meetings, scoring updates will be posted on the Website setting out the number of dollars credited to each Horse and each Stable's progressive total.
- In the event that a Player's Horse is scratched from one of the Featured Races, Players are not entitled to replace the Horse in that race (unless they are able to make a trade in one of the Trade Periods).
- In the event of a dead heat for any of the positions that attracts prize money, the Stable will be allocated credit equal to the final prize money that the race club allocates to that position.
- If a Race Meeting is abandoned or cancelled no credit allocations will be made.
- If additional races are scheduled on any of the below ten race days, they will be included in the Promotion and will become Feature Races. The number of Featured Races at each Race Meeting is correct as at 30 November 2012.
- Horse Values
- Horse values will go up as they win a group or listed race during the Carnival. If players already had the horse in their stable, the value will not go up. The value will only go up on the horses that have not been selected in a stable.
